Non-Latin Fonts
Non-Latin fonts from Monotype Imaging® are a proven,
flexible approach to creating multilingual Unicode® conformant fonts for
hardware and software developers. They enable developers to support a
range of languages using either single or multiples fonts, allowing users to
create and exchange multilingual documents.
Whether the focus is on a family of languages, on a geographic region, or any
other selected criteria, a non-Latin module can be customized to meet
customer requirements. By further grouping various modules, a customer can
achieve the desired degree of Unicode coverage.
Because of the global language coverage of Monotype Imaging's
non-Latin fonts, applications can display text in languages not ordinarily
supported by the software platform. Multiple-font solutions can typically offer
a higher degree of typographic sophistication (eg: alternative glyphs). With
newer technologies, however, it is now becoming possible to offer these
features within a single font solution. Used judiciously, either the single
font or the multiple-font solution can effectively provide the Unicode support
needed by the customer. Monotype Imaging can supply any font solution with full
Unicode 3.0 compliance.
